HUUM Steel 9 9 kW Electric Sauna Heater

The HUUM STEEL 9 is a 9 kW floor-standing electric sauna heater for rooms of 317–529 cubic feet on a 240V single-phase supply. It holds 331 lb of stones and requires a HUUM UKU control, sold separately.

STEEL is the plainest heater HUUM makes and the least expensive way into the range. Same internal air duct as CLIFF and the same small safety distances, in a slim stainless column with no decorative treatment.

The HUUM STEEL 9 is rated for 317–529 cubic feet.

Measure width × depth × height in feet. Add extra volume for anything that soaks up heat rather than reflecting it — glass, tile, concrete, stone and exposed log all make a room behave larger than its raw measurement. Size to the larger number: an undersized heater never gets the room right, and running it flat out shortens the elements.

HUUM lists these accessories for the STEEL 9. All are sold separately.

• The supplier lists small safety distances for this model, which is why it suits tight rooms. They are still minimums — mount to the clearances in the installation manual.
• HUUM specifies rounded olivine stones, not the split-face stones other brands use. Load them loosely by hand so air moves freely, and never run the heater with an empty or tightly packed stone space.
• The UKU temperature sensor mounts inside the hot room on the wall above the heater. Sensor position changes how the room behaves more than any setting on the panel does.
• Pour small ladlefuls of clean water onto the stones only — never onto the body or the elements. Mix any scented oil into the bucket first.
• This is an LTL freight item. It arrives curbside on a pallet — note any damage on the delivery receipt before you sign.

Does the HUUM STEEL 9 include a control?

No, and it cannot run without one. Every HUUM electric heater ships with no controls on the body — you add a HUUM UKU control, sold separately, which mounts outside the hot room and lets you bring the sauna up to temperature before you walk in.

What stones does the HUUM STEEL 9 take?

Rounded olivine, 3-5cm — 10 boxes, 331 lb in total. HUUM specifies rounded stones rather than the split-face stones other brands use: they suit the open HUUM basket and give a milder steam. Stones are not included.

Is the HUUM STEEL 9 certified for use in the US?
