The Harvia Cilindro PC90 is a 9 kW floor- or wall-mounted electric sauna heater for rooms of 141–494 adjusted cubic feet running on 240VAC 1PH. It takes 200 lb of 5-10cm sauna stones (sold separately). Controls are built into the heater, so no separate control unit is required.
The Harvia Cilindro is a vertical pillar heater built around an unusually large stone mass held in an open, grate-like stainless steel cage. Because the stones are exposed on every side, the bather controls the steam: water thrown against the side of the column produces a soft, rolling löyly, while water poured straight down onto the top of the pillar produces the sharp, immediate burst that Finnish bathers call a hard steam.
Controls are built into this heater. No separate control unit is needed, and none can be added.
These are not included with the heater. You need them before the sauna will run.

The Harvia Cilindro PC90 is rated for 141–494 adjusted cubic feet.
Adjusted cubic feet = width × depth × height in feet, plus 45 cu ft for every square foot of glass, tile, concrete or stone, plus 15 cu ft for every square foot of exposed log wall. A 6 × 7 ft room with a 7 ft ceiling is 294 raw cu ft — add a full-glass door and it becomes 834. Always size to the adjusted number.
| Model | Output | Room Volume | Stones | Rated Amps |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cilindro PC60 | 6 kW | 141–294 cu ft | 200 lbs | 25 |
| Cilindro PC80 | 8 kW | 141–431 cu ft | 200 lbs | 33.4 |
| Cilindro PC90 | 9 kW | 141–494 cu ft | 200 lbs | 37.5 |
Yes. The thermostat and timer are built into the heater body, so there is nothing else to buy to run it. The trade-off is that you cannot start it from outside the room or from a phone.
No. It is a hardwired appliance on its own dedicated circuit, rated at 37.5 A. A licensed electrician sizes the breaker and conductors from the nameplate and installation manual.
Harvia does not publish a figure. A correctly sized, well-insulated room is usually ready in 30 to 60 minutes. Consistently longer than an hour normally means the heater is undersized for the room's adjusted cubic feet.
