Harvia KIP60B 6 kW Electric Sauna Heater with Built-In Controls Sale price$1,252.00 USD Regular price$1,391.11 USD
Description

The Harvia KIP60B is a 6 kW wall-mounted electric sauna heater for rooms of 170–300 adjusted cubic feet running on 240VAC 1PH. It takes 44 lb of 5-10cm sauna stones (sold separately). Controls are built into the heater, so no separate control unit is required.

The Harvia KIP is the heater most home saunas end up with, and for good reason: it is a compact, wall-hung stainless steel unit that clears the floor completely, holds 44 lb of stones, and is available in the exact power steps that residential rooms need. It is also the only Harvia residential line offered both with built-in controls and as a bare heater for use with a separate wall-mounted controller.

  • Dual wall keeps exterior cool to the touch
  • Industrial grade, serviceable heating elements
  • Direct rock-to-heating element contact
  • Wall-mounted — keeps the floor clear for cleaning and drainage
  • Offered with built-in controls (B) or for use with a separate Xenio control (W)

Sizing

The Harvia KIP60B is rated for 170–300 adjusted cubic feet.

Adjusted cubic feet = width × depth × height in feet, plus 45 cu ft for every square foot of glass, tile, concrete or stone, plus 15 cu ft for every square foot of exposed log wall. A 6 × 7 ft room with a 7 ft ceiling is 294 raw cu ft — add a full-glass door and it becomes 834. Always size to the adjusted number.

Model Output Room Volume Stones Rated Amps
KIP45B 4.5 kW 100–210 cu ft 44 lbs 18.8
KIP60B 6 kW 170–300 cu ft 44 lbs 25
KIP80B 8 kW 250–425 cu ft 44 lbs 33.3

Installation & Use Notes
  • Mount to the clearances given in the installation manual. The temperature sensor goes on the wall above the heater, at the height the manual specifies.
  • Load the stones loosely by hand, largest at the bottom, so air moves freely between them. Never run the heater with an empty or tightly packed stone space.
  • Pour small ladlefuls of clean water onto the hot stones only — never onto the body, elements or controls. Mix any scented oil into the bucket first.
  • Re-stack the stones once a year and replace any that have cracked or crumbled.
  • Stones ship separately on their own freight because of the weight.
FAQs

Does the Harvia KIP60B include a control unit?

Yes. The thermostat and timer are built into the heater body, so there is nothing else to buy to run it. The trade-off is that you cannot start it from outside the room or from a phone.

Can the Harvia KIP60B be plugged into a normal outlet?

No. It is a hardwired appliance on its own dedicated circuit, rated at 25 A. A licensed electrician sizes the breaker and conductors from the nameplate and installation manual.

How long does the Harvia KIP60B take to heat up?

Harvia does not publish a figure. A correctly sized, well-insulated room is usually ready in 30 to 60 minutes. Consistently longer than an hour normally means the heater is undersized for the room's adjusted cubic feet.
