Your electronic ignition
This model runs the low voltage electronic ignition, so it needs power at the install. These are the controls for the 110V side of the transformer. Commonly specified on commercial installs and wherever an inspector wants a manual shut-off.
The Outdoor Plus warrants ignition and control components only when they are bought with a pan and burner kit or a complete fire feature, so adding these alongside the fire feature keeps them covered.

The system runs from a GFCI-protected transformer, so electrical power has to be available at the install location. One transformer can drive up to four burners, which is why this version suits multi-bowl pool installs. Follow the low voltage ignition manual above for the wiring detail.
Can it tie into my pool automation?
Yes. The Smart Weather system is designed to work with pool and spa automation or a simple wall switch, so the bowl can be turned on from the same controller you already use.
Does the Maya run on natural gas or propane?
Both. Each Maya is built to order for the fuel you select, natural gas or liquid propane. Converting between fuels later is not a simple swap; it should be performed by a qualified gas professional using the correct orifice and components.
Can the fire and the water run at the same time?
Yes. The burner and the scupper operate independently, so you can run the flame on its own, the water on its own, or both together. The water feature draws from a separate supply and pump rather than from the gas system.
Do I need a pool to use it?
No. The Maya is most often installed at the edge of a pool so the scupper spills into the water, but it can also be plumbed to a basin or a recirculating reservoir for a patio install. Either way the water side needs a supply and a pump sized for 7-10 GPM.
Can you roast marshmallows over it?
We do not recommend it. Sugar and food drippings can clog the burner ports and stain the fire media, affecting performance. The Maya is built as a clean-burning decorative fire feature.
