What is the timer for?
It stops a fire feature being left running. You turn the dial, the fire runs, and when the interval ends the timer drops power to the ignition system and the feature shuts down on its own.
Where does it mount?
In a standard single gang electrical box on the 110VAC side of the transformer. There is an extra knockout for 1/2" conduit.
Can I use it with a low voltage 30VDC system?
It switches the 110VAC feed, so it works wherever that feed powers the transformer. It is not wired into the low voltage side. Have your electrician confirm it suits your specific setup.
Is it covered by warranty if I buy it on its own?
The Outdoor Plus warrants ignition and control components only when they are bought together with a pan and burner kit or a complete fire feature. A control purchased separately falls outside that coverage.
Gas-operated appliances and fire features must be installed in accordance with local building and fire codes. Improper installation may result in property damage or injury. Professional installation is recommended.
