The Outdoor Plus Electrical Emergency Shut-Off Button - 110V - OPT-ESTOP

The Emergency Shut-Off Button gives an installation one obvious way to kill power to an electronic ignition fire feature. A single press cuts the 110VAC supply, stopping the ignition sequence and shutting the system down.

The electronics sit inside a sealed, rain-tight enclosure and the unit mounts on the 110VAC side of the transformer. Inspectors and commercial installations frequently want a visible manual shut-off within reach of the fire feature, and this is the part that satisfies that requirement.

What does this actually do?

It interrupts the 110VAC power feeding your fire feature's ignition system. Pressing it drops power to the transformer, which shuts the system down. It is a power cut-off, not a gas shut-off valve.

Where does it get mounted?

On the 110VAC side of the transformer, somewhere reachable from the fire feature but far enough back to be usable in an emergency. Your electrician and local code will determine the exact placement.

Do I need one?

Not for a typical residential match lit install. It becomes relevant on electronic ignition systems, and it is often required on commercial installations or wherever an inspector wants a visible manual shut-off.

Is it covered by warranty if I buy it on its own?

The Outdoor Plus warrants ignition and control components only when they are bought together with a pan and burner kit or a complete fire feature. A control purchased separately is outside that coverage, so buy it alongside the fire feature where possible.
