Description

The Narvi Kaamos 20 Wood-Burning Sauna Stove (21 kW) is a Finnish wood-burning sauna stove rated 21kW, for sauna rooms of 353-706 cu ft. It takes a minimum of 132 lbs of stones, which are not included.

Its large stone capacity allows for an even and pleasant sauna bath. The corrosion-resistant steel plate and thick firebox roof makes it a reliable, long-lasting sauna stove. The cast-iron mouthpiece of the sauna stove makes it easy to follow the flame. Its mouthpiece is sturdy and does not bend when in use, and has a comfortable wooden handle. The large grate and fire air control through the back protection plate of the firebox ensures an efficient and clean combustion. The Narvi Kaamos 20 Sauna Stove provides an even bath along with corrosion-resistant steel for reliability.

Narvi has built sauna stoves at Lake Narvi in Finland since 1937, and is one of the few large sauna heater makers with all of its production and development still in Finland.

Narvi tests these stoves to EN 15821 and CE marks them. It publishes no UL, ETL, ULC or CSA listing, and no dealer we checked claims one. Check what your inspector and insurer require before you install.

Clearances to Combustible Materials

The minimum distances Narvi publishes to unprotected combustible surfaces. Measure these before you frame the benches — they decide where the stove can physically go.

Fitting a Narvi protective wall shield halves the side and rear clearances. Floor
A concrete slab of at least 50 mm, or the Narvi installation base. The base is required on any combustible floor and over underfloor heating. Narvi also calls for a metal sheet extending at least 100 mm past each side of the door and 400 mm in front of it.

Narvi also lists Smoke Flue Thermometer, which we do not currently stock.

Installation & Use Notes
  • Fit the flue and the clearances above before you light it. The flue socket is 119 mm and exits top or rear, so a US-size adaptor is usually needed — Narvi makes one.
  • Cut firewood to about 33 cm (13") and around 5 cm thick, and never fill the firebox past two thirds of its height.
  • Load the stones loosely by hand so air moves between them. Never fire the stove with an empty stone space.
  • Burn dry, split firewood only. Wet wood tars the flue and makes poor steam.

FAQs
Are stones included with the Kaamos 20 (21 kW)?
No. Narvi specifies a minimum of 132 lbs and supplies none in this range, so budget for stones as a separate line. The stove must never be fired with an empty stone space. Is it UL or ETL listed?
No. Narvi publishes a CE marking, which is the European conformity mark, and no North American listing. Some jurisdictions and insurers require a listed solid-fuel appliance, so confirm before you buy. Do I need a chimney, and what size?
Yes. The flue socket is 119 mm (4.7") and can exit from the top or the back, so most US installs need an adaptor to standard pipe. Narvi makes a modular T600-class flue system and the adaptor; neither is included with the stove. Allow at least 11.8" (30 cm) to the side walls and 50.0" (127 cm) to the ceiling.

Orders don't process or ship on weekends or holidays, so anything placed after 2 PM on Friday or over the weekend starts processing the next business day. In-stock items usually arrive within 3-9 business days.

How does freight delivery work?

Larger items ship by freight. Here's what to expect:

  • The carrier will call to schedule a delivery window, Monday to Friday
  • Someone 18 or older needs to be there to receive and sign for it
  • Delivery is curbside, lowered by liftgate to your driveway or nearest accessible spot
  • Please double check your phone number at checkout so you don't miss the carrier's call

Does it come assembled?

It depends on the product. Some items arrive ready to use, while others need assembly. Check the product page for what's included, and download the manual for full setup instructions.

Do I need a professional to install it?

Many products can be set up yourself. For anything involving a natural gas line, hardwired electrical or built-in installation, we recommend a licensed professional and checking your local codes.

Narvi tests these stoves to EN 15821 and CE marks them. It publishes no UL, ETL, ULC or CSA listing, and no dealer we checked claims one. Check what your inspector and insurer require before you install.

Clearances to Combustible Materials

The minimum distances Narvi publishes to unprotected combustible surfaces. Measure these before you frame the benches — they decide where the stove can physically go.

Fitting a Narvi protective wall shield halves the side and rear clearances. Floor
A concrete slab of at least 50 mm, or the Narvi installation base. The base is required on any combustible floor and over underfloor heating. Narvi also calls for a metal sheet extending at least 100 mm past each side of the door and 400 mm in front of it.

Installation & Use Notes
  • Fit the flue and the clearances above before you light it. The flue socket is 119 mm and exits top or rear, so a US-size adaptor is usually needed — Narvi makes one.
  • Cut firewood to about 33 cm (13") and around 5 cm thick, and never fill the firebox past two thirds of its height.
  • Load the stones loosely by hand so air moves between them. Never fire the stove with an empty stone space.
  • Burn dry, split firewood only. Wet wood tars the flue and makes poor steam.

Are stones included with the Kaamos 20 (21 kW)?
No. Narvi specifies a minimum of 132 lbs and supplies none in this range, so budget for stones as a separate line. The stove must never be fired with an empty stone space. Is it UL or ETL listed?
No. Narvi publishes a CE marking, which is the European conformity mark, and no North American listing. Some jurisdictions and insurers require a listed solid-fuel appliance, so confirm before you buy. Do I need a chimney, and what size?
Yes. The flue socket is 119 mm (4.7") and can exit from the top or the back, so most US installs need an adaptor to standard pipe. Narvi makes a modular T600-class flue system and the adaptor; neither is included with the stove. Allow at least 11.8" (30 cm) to the side walls and 50.0" (127 cm) to the ceiling.
