Narvi Inari Plus Wood-Burning Sauna Stove 16 kW Sale price$2,395.00 USD
Description

The Narvi Inari Plus Wood-Burning Sauna Stove (16 kW) is a Finnish wood-burning sauna stove rated 16kW, for sauna rooms of 283-636 cu ft. It takes a minimum of 198 lbs of stones, which are not included.

Stones visible behind the grid make this sauna stove very attractive. Choose from the Inari or the Inari Plus for a greater stone capacity. The environmentally friendly sauna stove heats up with a relatively small amount of wood. It features a glass door with a cast-iron frame, paired with adjustable legs and a comfortable wooden handle. The flue attachment for this sauna stove can be made from the top or back, but you can only attach the flue to the back after making a hole in the stones basket. A hole can be made using an iron saw to cut through the three steel wires in the stones basket.

Narvi has built sauna stoves at Lake Narvi in Finland since 1937, and is one of the few large sauna heater makers with all of its production and development still in Finland.

  • Original and unique
  • Plus version provides greater stone capacity
  • Adjustable feet for easy installation
  • Steel casing painted in black
  • Inari Plus - 283 to 636 cu. ft.

What's Included
In the Box
Sauna Stove, Installation and Operation Manual

Sauna stones are not included, and the stove must not be fired without them.

Required to Operate

A wood stove is only part of the job. None of these come with it.

Sauna Stones
A minimum of 198 lbs. Narvi does not supply stones through this range, so use split-face or rounded sauna stones from another maker — we stock several.
Flue & Chimney
A flue system rated for a solid-fuel appliance, plus the roof or wall penetration hardware. Narvi makes a modular flue that fits these stoves.
Clearances
The distances to combustible surfaces given in the installation manual, or a protective wall to reduce them.
A Non-Combustible Base
A hearth or installation base under the stove. Narvi makes an adjustable one.

Clearances to Combustible Materials

The minimum distances Narvi publishes to unprotected combustible surfaces. Measure these before you frame the benches — they decide where the stove can physically go.

Side
19.7" (50 cm)
Rear
13.8" (35 cm)
Front
19.7" (50 cm)
Ceiling
50.4" (128 cm)
Protective Wall
Fitting a Narvi protective wall shield halves the side and rear clearances.
Floor
A concrete slab of at least 50 mm, or the Narvi installation base. The base is required on any combustible floor and over underfloor heating. Narvi also calls for a metal sheet extending at least 100 mm past each side of the door and 400 mm in front of it.

Narvi's product page and its own installation manual give different side clearances for this stove. The larger figure is shown here. The installation manual supplied with the stove governs — follow it.

Choose Your Size

Measure the room, then pick the output that covers it. The bigger stove is not the safer bet — an oversized stove overshoots and wastes wood.

Installation & Use Notes
  • Fit the flue and the clearances above before you light it. The flue socket is 119 mm and exits top or rear, so a US-size adaptor is usually needed — Narvi makes one.
  • Cut firewood to about 33 cm (13") and around 5 cm thick, and never fill the firebox past two thirds of its height.
  • Load the stones loosely by hand so air moves between them. Never fire the stove with an empty stone space.
  • Burn dry, split firewood only. Wet wood tars the flue and makes poor steam.
FAQs
Are stones included with the Inari Plus (16 kW)?
No. Narvi specifies a minimum of 198 lbs and supplies none in this range, so budget for stones as a separate line. The stove must never be fired with an empty stone space.
Is it UL or ETL listed?
No. Narvi publishes a CE marking, which is the European conformity mark, and no North American listing. Some jurisdictions and insurers require a listed solid-fuel appliance, so confirm before you buy.
Do I need a chimney, and what size?
Yes. The flue socket is 119 mm (4.7") and can exit from the top or the back, so most US installs need an adaptor to standard pipe. Narvi makes a modular T600-class flue system and the adaptor; neither is included with the stove. Allow at least 19.7" (50 cm) to the side walls and 50.4" (128 cm) to the ceiling.
