The HUUM UKU Extension Box is the power module a UKU control needs to switch a heater over 11 kW. It is not a control on its own — a UKU panel is still required.

UKU is the only control HUUM makes, and every HUUM electric heater needs one — the heaters ship with no controls on the body at all. The panel mounts outside the hot room and switches the heater through a separate power unit, which is what lets you bring the room up to temperature before you walk in.

Installation & Use Notes
  • The UKU power unit is hardwired between the supply and the heater by a licensed electrician; the panel and sensor are wired back to it.
  • The panel mounts outside the hot room. Only the temperature sensor goes inside.

When do I need a UKU Extension Box?

For any HUUM heater over 11 kW — the HIVE 12, HIVE 15 and HIVE 18. A UKU control switches up to 11 kW on its own; above that the extension box does the switching. Below 12 kW you do not need one.

Does the extension box replace the UKU control?

No. It sits between the control and the heater. You still need a UKU Local or UKU Wi-Fi panel.
