• Rinse before loading to wash off dust, then stack loosely by hand, largest at the bottom, so air moves freely between the stones.
• Re-stack once a year and replace any that have split or crumbled. Cozy Heat recommends buying a spare box so you can pick the best-fitting stones.

Which stone should I choose?

Split-face Cozy Stone gives a sharper, more intense burst of steam because water flashes off the broken faces. Rounded Cozy Round lets water run down into the lower layers, which gives a softer, longer steam. Cozy Heat lists both for every one of its stoves.
