Description

The American Made Grills Drop-In Infrared Sear Burner (IRB-AMG) is a ceramic infrared drop-in burner that replaces one main burner position in a compatible Encore/Muscle series grill, adding a dedicated high-heat searing zone capable of reaching 1600°F. At 22,000 BTU, the ceramic element converts gas combustion into direct radiant heat rather than heating surrounding air — producing faster surface caramelization and a Maillard crust that standard convection burners cannot match at the same BTU output. Installing this burner replaces one standard main burner position: your grill gains a sear zone but has one fewer standard convection burner. Compatible with: Encore and Muscle series grills Not compatible with Alturi, Atlas, or Estate grills..

What's Included
Drop-in infrared sear burner unit
Ceramic infrared element in stainless steel housing (IRB-AMG)
Key Features
  • 22,000-BTU Ceramic Infrared Element — Up to 1600°F: The ceramic element radiates heat directly onto food rather than heating surrounding air. At 1600°F, surface searing occurs rapidly with less moisture loss than convection burners running at comparable BTU.
  • Drop-In Installation — Replaces One Main Burner Position: No modification required. The burner drops into the existing burner position. Gas connection uses the existing manifold fitting.
  • Series-Specific Fit (Encore/Muscle Only): Gas manifold connections, burner port geometry, and support bracket dimensions are matched to the Encore/Muscle series. This burner is not interchangeable with other AMG series.
  • Dedicated Sear Zone Configuration: On a 3-burner grill, one infrared zone + two standard zones covers the full range of searing, roasting, and indirect cooking in a single session.
Installation & Use Notes
  • Installation must be performed by a qualified gas technician. Confirm gas type and manifold connection before installation.
  • This burner is compatible with Encore and Muscle series grills only. Confirm your grill's model number before ordering.
  • Installing this burner replaces one standard main burner position in your grill.
  • Allow the infrared element to cool completely before handling or cleaning.
Ordering Notes
  • This burner fits Encore and Muscle series grills only. For other AMG series, confirm the correct infrared sear burner SKU for your grill model.

Yes. You can pay over time with Shop Pay Installments at checkout on orders up to $30,000. Available plans and rates depend on your order total and approval, and you'll see your options before you pay.

Shipping & Delivery

Where do you ship?

We currently ship within the continental United States only. We don't ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Canada at this time.

How long will my order take?

Orders are processed within 1-2 business days, and orders placed before 2 PM EST start processing the same day. Orders don't process or ship on weekends or holidays, so anything placed after 2 PM on Friday or over the weekend starts processing the next business day. In-stock items usually arrive within 3-9 business days.

Some products are made to order and take longer. When that's the case, the lead time is listed on the product page.

How does freight delivery work?

Larger items ship by freight. Here's what to expect:

  • The carrier will call to schedule a delivery window, Monday to Friday
  • Someone 18 or older needs to be there to receive and sign for it
  • Delivery is curbside, lowered by liftgate to your driveway or nearest accessible spot
  • Please double check your phone number at checkout so you don't miss the carrier's call

Installation

Does it come assembled?

It depends on the product. Some items arrive ready to use, while others need assembly. Check the product page for what's included, and download the manual for full setup instructions.

Do I need a professional to install it?

Many products can be set up yourself. For anything involving a natural gas line, hardwired electrical or built-in installation, we recommend a licensed professional and checking your local codes.
